Bhavannarayana Swamy Temple

Bhavannarayana Swamy Temple is in the Guntur district of the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is located at about 49 kilometer from Guntur in the heart of the Bapatla, and is one among the oldest temples of the state. It has a great historical and architectural importance.

It was constructed by the great king Krimikantha Chola in 1465 and was restored by Raja (King) Vasireddi Venkatadrinaidu of Amravati kingdom in 1856. This temple has been preserved for years by the archeological department of India.

The temple is devoted to Lord Bhavanarayana swamy, who came to be called Bapatla with time.

Bhavanarayana Temples Gopuram was designed from one rock. It is believed to be 1500 year previous, and a few of the inscriptions on the wall square measure in Telugu script that was still evolving at that point.

On 23 Oct 2011 this Galigopuram structure had collapsed. However, the Rock built anicient temple is intact and the Archeological Survey of India has renovated the strucutres in Dec 2011.
